On Wednesday April 7, Brue Baukol Capital Partners‘ latest mixed-use project ‘The District’ broke ground, adjacent to RTD’s Dry Creek Station in Centennial. Spanning over 36 acres, the mixed-use development will offer 2.5 million square feet of office space, a 200-key hotel, 1,800 residential units, and more than 30,000 square feet of retail.
“The District is setting a new standard for mixed-use developments in Southeast Denver, helping to meet the demands of a growing workforce,” said Chad Brue, chief executive officer for Brue Baukol. “This development will offer an intentional mix of office, residential, retail and hotel with walkable streets and diverse amenities, all while maintaining important connections to Colorado’s landscape with open green space and mountain views.”
Additional project partners collaborating on The District include Tryba Architects, Design Workshop, Martin/Martin Consulting Engineers and JHL Constructors.
The District is a walkable mixed-use community that will include over 2.5 million square feet of office space, a 200-key hotel, 1,800 residential units and over 30,000 square feet of retail on 36 acres. Previously named the Jones District before rebranding to The District, the community supports a full range of flexible office spaces, from small-scale co-working to multiple-building corporate headquarters.
Centennial Mayor Stephanie Piko attended the groundbreaking ceremony. “The District brings the next generation of employment centers to metro Denver providing vibrant public spaces, transit connectivity, housing diversity and new office space in a dynamic mix of uses and smart infrastructure,” said Mayor Piko. “Centennial is excited to partner with Brue Baukol to catalyze the future growth of our community.”
The 36-acre site is highly visible with 1/3 mile of prominent I-25 frontage and easy accessibility to RTD’s Dry Creek Station and Centennial Airport.
The infrastructure work is scheduled for completion in May 2021 and vertical construction on several planned projects will begin during the second half of 2021.
